Magic Shell As A Filling Instead Of A Topping

The Sporkful

Eater Chris in Portland, OR, heard us talking about Magic Shell and sent in this idea:

Grab yourself a mediocre-to-good vanilla ice cream. Then let it melt down while stirring to create the consistency of a soft serve (maybe a little thicker). Then, dump the Magic Shell over the top and STIR IT IN. This sounds odd but it makes for a VERY 'chocolate chip' like taste. Also you avoid the 'crunch factor' of the hard chocolate layers on top. Plus it's adjustable! If you need more chocolate flavor, simply add some more Shell.

Sounds quite intriguing, as a Magic Shell lover myself, I plan to try it. And if you're into Magic Shell and other absurd use of classic desert ingredients, make sure you check out our latest video, in which experiment with ice cream cones, ice cream sandwiches, Magic Shell, chili, and Magic Shell.
