Pineapple Queries: A 15-Year-Old Oklahoman Needs Your Help

Pineapple

Sam writes with these questions...

I am a 15 year old from a tiny little town in Oklahoma and I love your podcast. I am a big fan of pineapple, but since I live in Oklahoma, it is pretty hard to get. I have access to the canned stuff, some weird packaged chunks from who knows where, and big pineapple cylinders that have the middle bored out. Which way is the best to go with? I know that it will still not be as good as the fruit from places like Orlando (Best pineapple ever!), but I just want to find a decent runner up. Also, I was wondering if you know any good recipes involving pineapples. Pineapple upside down cake is a classic, but my personal favorite is pineapple crisp. You can use either an oat style or a graham cracker style crust. It is delicious. One more question. Do prefer eating it in chunks or the rings? I like to set out a couple rings wrapped in a paper towel and let them dry for about 5 minutes. Then I grab them and eat them as I walk to school. Any thoughts?
