"Hey, should we open that gavel filled with bourbon from the 1970s?"
The only acceptable answer to this question is yes, and I gave it with no hesitation last night when offered Ezra Brooks from said vessel. If the label is to be believed, it aged in a barrel for 101 months. Then it was poured into a gavel, sealed with an ATF label, and has been passed around since Nixon was President. My friend has a small collection of booze in unusual containers, including a sphinx, bell and ceramic pandas climbing bamboo. They're all from a long time ago. Unfortunately, it seems like distillers don't fill these oddball gift bottles anymore. Any strange-looking liquor containers on your shelf? /mark(By the way, if you don't know about Great Justice, a warning: you have no chance to survive make your time.)
