Veterans Needed for Show on War Zone Eating

There are many military servicemembers out there in the Eater community, some of whom have written to tell us about water depositories in Iraq or to ask, "What one seasoning would you take to a desert island (of bland food)?"

Now I'm putting out the call for servicemembers for a show about War Zone Eating. Whether you served years ago or you're still serving now (or both), we want to hear from you!

Have you come up with ways to make MRE's more palatable? What's your approach to navigating a mess hall? What foods do you take with you when heading out into an uncertain situation, when you don't know how long you'll be gone? Do you have an anecdote to share about a war zone meal that stands out in your memory, perhaps because it reminded you of home or helped reinforce you in all the ways a good meal can?

The goal here is to take a Sporkfulesque, hyper-detailed, lighthearted (though still respectful) look at War Zone Eating. So if you have thoughts to share, drop us a line or comment below!
