Toasting technique comes up often on The Sporkful. We like to believe we're pretty knowledgeable about the toastosphere, but this custom Cadillac profiled in the New York Times proves otherwise. It replaces the passenger seat with a toaster, hot plate, fridge and naturally, a kitchen sink. Other than starting a forest fire and tossing in a loaf, I can't think of a more environmentally insensitive way to add crunch to your bread. But it's by far the most beautiful toaster I've ever seen. Sadly, The Sporkful has yet to generate $225,000, so we won't be taking it for a spin anytime soon.
This car is part of our conversation in Episode 6 on peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. (I'm skeptical on the grilling and toasting of said sandwiches, by the way.) That's coming Tuesday. See you there. /mg (Photo: RM Auctions, via NYT)A Toaster with V-8 Power
