You know friends, some decisions in life aren't really decisions at all. Take for instance the "decision" of whether or not to accept a free audio book from Audible.com, courtesy of The Sporkful. Is that a "decision?" Technically it is, because you could decide not to get the free book. But why would you do that? Then you wouldn't have a free book that you could have had. l see no upside for you in that scenario.
Do You Like Free Audio Books and Supporting The Sporkful or Do You Hate Rainbows?
But the free audio book has major upside. For example, are all of your friends reading Jonathan Franzen's new book? So are mine. Do you want to read it? Neither do I. But do you feel a little left out when they start talking about it? Yeah, me too. Now you can get the audio version of that book for free, so you can listen to little bits of it and pretend to have an opinion at parties. Or take a cue from Mark Garrison and download the longest audio book Audible offers -- The Bible. It's 99 hours, and it can be yours for free. (Clearly Mark approaches free books the way he approaches buffets.)
So go to this web site and sign up for your free, 14-day trial of Audible's excellent service. They have over 75,000 titles, it works on over 500 mobile devices, you'll get a free audio book for signing up, and you can cancel at any time. Plus, The Sporkful gets a few bucks, so you're supporting us, and it costs you nothing. And you can sign up with an Amazon login, so you don't even have to fill out a bunch of annoying fields. Why listen to Genesis the band, when you can listen to Genesis the book? Do it! /dan
