I put together The Sporkful's theme song in GarageBand. It was a fun exercise, I hadn't really used the program before, and I think the song came out well. Then a few weeks ago, our friends at Popspotting asked me in passing if I could make a song for their podcast. So I did, and they seemed pleased with it. I was feeling pretty good about my composing abilities, even if calling myself a "composer" after making two songs on GarageBand would make Mozart roll over in his grave. Then came this tweet from @WhatHappenedWas:
The dj at this hipster @TheAceHotel #coachella pool party just sampled @thesporkful's intro music. I am more than sufficiently happy. Yes friends, you read that correctly. I'll let you know the next time I'm spinning at a club, and/or when the London Philharmonic decides to perform my complete works. /danNext Step: The Sporkful Band?
