Mark’s Message for Sporkful Fans

After a lot of thought, I’ve decided to leave Sporkful. It was a very tough decision, but it’s the right thing to do because some really awesome things have happened recently. I got a great new job as a reporter for Marketplace, and I’m excited to be back in public radio full-time. Plus, Sporkful keeps getting bigger and better, with a new website and book in the works.

With Sporkful growing and my work at Marketplace keeping me very busy, Dan and I agree that this is what’s best for all of us, especially y’all, the Sporkful fans. But Sporkful is not going anywhere, because Dan’s got some great ideas and is going to be working hard to keep Sporkful great. So definitely stay tuned.

This has been a fun ride and all of you have made this a great experience. Thank you very much for everything and keep in touch. /mark

And this from Dan...

I'd just like to thank Mark for all of his great work and his dedication to The Sporkful. I'm sorry to see him go, but I'm sure he'll be very successful at Marketplace, and I wish him all the best.

Of course, this means some aspects of The Sporkful will change, but as Mark says, its essence will remain the same. It'll still be a place for food-obsessed weirdos to come together and find ways to Eat More Better. As for the podcast, have no fear, I won't be expecting you to listen to me talk by myself for 20 straight minutes. Even Mrs. Sporkful wouldn't listen to that show. Instead, we'll have more guests, more interaction with all of you Eaters out there, more callers, more shows from the field, and many other new bells and whistles that I haven't thought of yet. Speaking of which, if you have ideas for things you'd like to see or hear on The Sporkful, drop me a line. And thanks again, Mark! /dan
