It's always fun to look at our download stats and see all the places where people are listening to us (it's how we met our one person fan club in the mysterious city of Alpena). So far, you're downloading us in more than 160 countries, which means that only a few dozen countries have eaters who still aren't with it. So it's up to you to get them on board.
We podcast in English (the American strand, though Dan did a mocking British accent in one of the tea episodes), so the top 4 are unsurprising: U.S., Canada, U.K. and Australia. But what I'm shocked by is where India ranks:
It is way down the list at #22. I expected it to come in much higher, given it's giant population, fabulous regional cuisines and substantial population of English speakers, as well as its booming high-tech industry, which I presume would create many fans of podcasting in general. But though it's well within striking distance of overtaking Sweden, it's well behind the other billion-plus country, China. That Asian giant comes in at #6, right after Japan and just ahead of South Korea and Germany. We do hear from a number of expats and people with Indian heritage in other countries, but so far, India itself is underrepresented (though it is ahead of fellow rising BRIC countries Brazil and Russia).
